Loches Exchange
When St Andrews twinned with the historical French town of Loches-en-Touraine nestling as it does in the Loire Valley in 2016 it cemented a relationship which began back in 1996. As part of the cultural exchanges between the picturesque towns the St Andrews Photographic Society in conjunction with the Camera` Photo Club Du Lochois have organised a photographic exchange. This year the theme proposed by the French was “Water”. The variety in styles of image and the varied locations in both portfolios showed expertise and imagination. A total of 150 images were shown accompanied by a suitable musical background. Loches also sent a 16 minute video of the restoration of the spire on the semi ruined church Beaulieu Les Loches which sits on the opposite bank of the river Indre. Once again this year Society member John Peacock was responsible for organising and liaising with the Loches Photo Club and he was warmly thanked for his time and efforts.
It was also one of our Societies popular cake charity nights which this year has already raised more than last years total for which the members who have baked and contributed so far can be justifiably proud.
